1965 mercury 650 motor stsrts then shuts off

when i pull start the engine itll cut on then shut off now sometimes when it comes on and i keep pressing the primer baloon itll keep running what should i do and is that the problem

Fuel pump at the least./carb floats. Rebiuld the carbs.

is it hard to rebuild carbs and is there 2 fuel pumps if so can u show me a picture of them? thank you and also i shouldent need to replace the fuel line or primer?

Sounds like a bad diaphram in your fuel pump(s). Easy and cheap fix. Try that first before deciding if carbs need attention.
