was out on the lake fishing tried to start the motor and nothing happened. the motor did not turn over. checked the fuses it was ok, battery was ok, kill switch was good, any ideas on what else can be wrong.
Do you mean it didn't try to fire up, or it didn't rotate when you pushed the start button? When you left the dock how many cranks did it take to start?
Correct it didn't rotate when you pushed the start button. it took 3 try's to start the motor. (normal) got out to my fishing spot, went to move and nothing, its like the fuse was blown
My guess would be a loss of 12 v in your starting circuit. you can easily bypass your start switch directly at the starter selinoid but be carful. A shorted light gauge wire will weld itself to the connection and actually melt. The age of the motor makes me belive that the problem is external to it.
