1964 Mercury 85HP not running right

Before I send it to the shop, I was hoping to get some ideas of what may be going on.
When I put it into gear and give it gas, it boggs down. I can slowly give it gas and get it going. Also when it gets going it will then bogg down, I have to back of the throttle then slowly get it going again.
Any help please!

Have you cleaned the carbs, changed plugs ect...?

I did put in new plugs, not sure how to clean carbs?

You need a manual to make things easier.
