How do i get more power from my 1984 mariner 30 hp?

I just bought a 16ft landau semi v aluminum boat. basically a semi v jon boat. it has a 30 hp 1984 mariner. it actually already runs faster than you would expect with only a 30 but like anyone else i want to go faster. i have seen the hydrofoil sting ray type things and saw that they increase top speed but i have gotten mixed reviews on this. most have told me it will help me plane faster which i plane pretty quick as it is but that it wouldnt help me much with my mph. is this true? this is my first boat so dont laugh at me for my lack of boating terminology but you know the holes that you put the pin in on the transom, well in the top hole it is very fast but it chatters so bad that i think im going to tear something up, but there is a significant dropoff in speed from the top hole to the second hole. would the hydrofoil allow me to run in the top hole without all the chattering?

Your boat set up is fine, just run it as is.
The foil will not increase speed.
