Mercury 3.3 hp choke issue

I have a Mercury 3.3 hp outboard (2003). I can get the motor to start, but when I turn the choke off, the engine dies. It does this even after I let it warm up a bit. Any knowledge on what is causing this and possible solutions are appreciated.

Most likely: the carb needs a good cleaning. Pull it off to do it.
