1994 50 hp mariner won't shift to forward, reverse and neutral only?

1994 50 Hp Mariner replaced bearing carrier would only stay in forward, figured out I was missing pin for shifting yolk now will not shift to forward and have hard time getting it in neutral? Don't know where other pin went felt around in back by shifting yolk didn't feel anything.

Did you move the shift cam by accident before you replaced the bearing carrier? Did you take the cam out and perhaps put it back upside down? If it is upside down it won't work properly

did not move left in neutral when i replaced pin on end of prop shaft is there a special [place it has to be?
