Removing and cleaning is the best way. Two bolts hold it in place. if it has an elect choke you have to remove the retainer clip on the engine side of carb. Remove the fuel in line and the throtle linkage. Gaskets can get damaged so be careful. If you really had water or gabage in your gas continue. I really think a novice
can get into more trouble going inside your carb! Pull the drain screw on the bottom outside of the bowl manually pump a new load of gas through the system with the primer bulb. Put the drain screw bac in and get some Sea Foam carb engine treatment. Follow the instructions. I am assuming you can get it to run for abit anyway. There are a number of small passages that may not be cleared even though you took it apart. It may take some time for the treatment to work. Good Luck!
