175 HP Mercury Outboard 1995
I bought a used boat last week and it came with a 175 HP Mercury outboard motor. When we start the motor with the lower unit in water it spits a little bit of water out of the water discharge hole. It takes about 3-4 minutes before there is a steady stream of water flowing. Is this normal? The guy I bought it from says that it takes time for the thermostadt to open.
My little Mercury 6 HP has a steady stream of water flowing all the time (it probably does not have a thermostadt).
