Hello gents / gals, thanks in advance if you can help me.

I have a 1980's mariner 60hp, yamaha built i think.

When i take the cowel off underneath the air intake box there is a red wire running to the solnoid, this red wire has a fuse on mine, does anyone know the value of the fuse? mines that badly corroded i can't tell, and the fuse has dropped to bits.

Also,

The pee of water than runs from the motor while running, mine only has a small amount while idling but more when at throttle, should it be the same all the time or does it depend on the revs?

Just questions to help put my mind at rest

Cheers
Lee

Most all outboard have a red fused wire that supplies power to the ignition switch.

The 'P' stream should be strong, even at an idle.

If the water pump impeller is more than 2 years old, replace it, the cost of an impeller, or even a complete water pump rebuild kit, is far, far less than repairing damages from overheating your motor.

Thanks for the reply. I'll get a impeller ordered straight away.

What amperage could the fuse be?

I'm not sure of the date of last service, the guy i baught it from two week ago said it had just been done? But looks like it may not of.

Thanks again

That fuse is normally about 20A.
