I have bought a 17 foot deep vee fibreglass bow rider with a shot Johnson 120. I found a used late 80's 75 hp mariner with oil injection. Will this be too small for this boat. We will just run around the lake, a little fishing, and some tubing/skiing. I have also located a used 130 HP Honda but it is more money and weights nearly 200lbs more.

Find a liitle bigger engine as the 75 is the small bore Inline 3cylinder. It will work but its going to have to work harder to pull a skier if the boat is loaded with passengers and that a non planing hull....I myself would not put anything under 115hp on that hull...

Check your shaft length. You may need a 20" on that hull.

More HP would make it perform better.
With the 75 and the correct prop you could have a nice runabout.
It would pull tubers and get you back and forth.
You wouldn't go as fast but it would work.
Like the jeep guy said make sure it fits. http://www.onlineoutboards.com/index.html

That 75 is going to struggle alot. I have the same size boat but a 140 I/O. I can't imagine anything smaller than 90hp on my boat. It should be fairly easy to find a v4 johnson/evinrude. 85,88,90,100,110,112,115,120hp should all do just fine.
