2005 25hp mercury shift linkage

Hello, I have a 2005 25hp mercury S/N#1b032464. The question I have is I went to pull my lower unit and I don't know how to remove the shift linkage. Any help would be much appreciated.

Underneath the carb is the connection you need to undo.Get a flashlight and look real good cause you'll need to reinstall it.J
