1977 Mercury 500 - 50HP won't start Replaced solenoid and ignition switch

Aloha Gang,

First post here. Been lurking and am grateful such a great forum exists.

My 1977 Mercury 500 does not get any spark when I turn the ignition key. I can start the engine fine by jumping the solenoid with a screw driver and when I turn the key off the engine turns off. Cannot start the engine with a screwdriver if the key is not in start position.

Any suggestions?
