Update --A few weeks ago I posted an oil injection problem. My alarm was going off. I had a Merc mechanic check it out. He replaced all sensors and warning module. The intermittent beeping would not go away. He placed the original parts back, so it ONLY cost me 3 hours labor @ $80/ hr. The mechanic concluded that the plastic gear that turns the oiler impeller was skipping or one of the teeth was chipped, causing the beeping. He said it would be cost prohibitive to replace the plastic gear as it is inside the engine block and hard to get to. Does this analysis make sense ???
The mechanic disconnected the alarm so no more beeping and told me to mix 50:1 ratio oil to gas manually. I am concerned that the overheat alarm is also disconnected. When I turn the key to the on position, there is no indicator beeping at all.
Please advise.
thanks for all your help.
