How 2synchronize Mariner 115 hp OB 1993

Guys
I changed the impeller a few days ago but when re-installing the Lower Unit for some reasong my reverse isnt working, on FF the prop rachet to the right with no problem, I can put the tranny in neutral but when pull to reverse the the propeller cant move to CCW or CW. I talk to an OB Mechanic and he told me I have to sinchronize the tranny, any ideas?

To synchronise the tranny you need a left handed hammer, some elbow grease and a long weight...

Joking aside... That gearbox has a non-ratcheting reverse gear. It should lock in both directions (when in reverse)....

In 24 years of playing with boats, this is the first time I have heard of 'synchronise the tranny'.

FIXED!! You were right about the gear box but the. L/U. have a very tricky shift shaft.
