I need some help.
I picked up a 40 hp Mariner 6e9 005802. The motor pumped water but ran hot. I pulled the lower unit and notced that the water tube went into the water pump housing without any seals. Eventhough the seals are "na" I was able to locate them.
The seals should be the right ones 2581989m and 2681427m. I got them today--do they go on the water pump tube or do they fit into the water pump housing. (they seem a little big to go into the housing (am I missing something)??
