I cannot find the location of the serial # on my 1988 or 1989 , 115hp inline 6cyl mariner. My mechanis says there should be a small plate on the outside of the motor but I cant find one. Can anyone tell me "exactly" wher to look please? And if I do find it, how do I determine exactly which year the motor is. I heard that 1989 was the last year for the inline sixes.
