Was not getting any spark so I pulled the flywheel (with a puller) to find magnets just floating around in there. There was two magnets, are they suppose to be glued on to the inside of the flywheel or what - I have never seen anything like this.

I assume I need a new flywheel - right?

I thought the mags went to the stator and that would be what you need to replace and explain no spark good luck

You are probibly right, as I can't see how they are mounted inside the flywheel and just stick out. Need to do more research here, find some pictures of what it is suppose to look like, thnaks

A closer look and they must mount in the flywheel, I see no place the could mount on the stator plate - very strange.

Magnets are glued to the flywheel rim. I had one that I used JB Weld to re-attach about 10 years ago. Motor's still going strong... Key is getting them placed properly. Mine were obvious - inside of flywheel had been painted and the placement was clear - they went where there was no paint...

No way to tell where they mount and they are rusted & broken - new flywheel is $450, need to find a used one, I think the pn is 7912A12 electric start - 77 tooth
