Have a 1980'2 Mariner 200. Ran fine last year. After the usual season start-up (fresh gas, check fluids, plugs, wiring, etc) I took it out and the low oil alarm is sounding. It appears the oil is flowing ok to the carbs and the system has plenty of oil in both the reservoir and the main tank, and all lines look ok, but the alarm continues to sound. Ran it on the lake for 1/2 day and it didn't blow-up, so it has gotta be good, right.

A secondary issue also came up, and I don't know if they are related. The boat start and idles ok, but at trolling rpm and mid-range, it is dying and seems to be starving or stuttering and stumbling. At WOT, it runs great and screams as it always has.

Something electrical like a weak coil or bad wiring? Something plugged up in the carbs?

Help me Mr. Wizard!

You started 2 threads on the same engine. Common to both problems would be #2 ignition coil drive is missing. If you get a manufacturers maintenance manual, you would find that fact rather easily.

hope it helps
