I have a 2 stroke that has died on me for the second time when I scooting along around 20mph in rough waters. She runs great in good conditions, I noticed a knocking sound right before she looses power and dies, and air bubbles in the oil line and in the tank. The tank was a little under the halfway mark in both cases. My first thoughts are I should keep the oil tank closer to full to keep the oil from sloshing around in the tank. This could be what's making the bubbles. I let the engine rest for about 10 minutes in both cases restarted and everything sounds good again and runs fine. Under normal conditions there aren't any air bubbles present, I've checked all the oil lines for leaks or cracks and everything looks tight.
Any input would be great.
