Hi everyone,
I have an 1999 mercury bluewater 150xl with 145 hours on it. Well when i go to start it cold or when its been siting for a while its always a pain to start.
When its ruining it idles perfect and runs without a problem when i go to start it thats a different issue. Im not sure if my carbs need to be rebuilt, or its just my starting procedure? when i go to start it , i hold the key in for 5 to 7 sec, turn the key it will seem like its trying to start, the starter kicks down, but wont stay runing. WHen it finally starts by giving it gas , and more throttle it seems like it was flooded because it takes a while for the rpms to get to where it should be at that perticular throttle position.
