2001 125 HP Mercury Flooding for the 3rd time!

My outboard is continuously flooding. I have had the mechanic reset the float now for the third time! The engine works great until I run it for about an hour and then something throws the float off and it starts gushing out fuel from the third carburetor. The mechanic inspected the condition of the float and thought it looked good. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

take the carb abart and take the floot and hold it in some water see if it sinks and if not hold it under and see if there are air bubbles and if so get a new one and check the needel and needel seat
