Upgrade Mariner 30 hp to 40 hp - advice needed

Hi Guys,

I have a Belgium made Mariner 30 hp EFI 2005 year. My ECM module has some errors so it is due to be replaced. But I wonder if I can replace it with ECM of 40 hp, should I replace any other parts in engine to be it true 40 hp or they are different by just the ECM?

Based on mercury online catalogs, I have found that there are only two differences.
1) ECM
2) Restrictor in intake manifold which is set on 30 hp engines.

Had anyone did a successful upgrade by fixing these two points?
