1984 Mariner 115 - Potential Water Pump Issues

Wondering if anyone can provide any guidance out there. I have an '84 115 hp Mariner and I'm not getting a strong stream of water from the water pump. I just replaced the impeller on it and the water is coming out a little stronger, but still nowhere near what it should be. It almost seems like there's a clog somewhere in the line, but I have no idea where to go from here.

I was using a hose and ears to test it in the driveway, wondering if that should be sufficient to provide a strong stream, or if I should really take it out to a lake for a real test...I'm grasping at straws.

Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Try removing hose from fitting where the water exits the motor. If you have an air compressor you can unclog with forced air. Check the nozzle where water exits motor sometimes dirt dabbers (wasp) build dirt nests in the nozzle and clog it as well.

Sorry for my late response, I had some major computer problems...rough stretch here! :)

I'll give that a shot and let you know how it goes! Thanks for the help!
