Need fuel pump for 1972 Vintage 80 HP Mercury

I have an 80 HP Outboard Mercury engine, vintage around 1972, Model number 800 188102. I think it needs a new fuel pump because it's starved for fuel, the manual fuel bulbs pump fuel and allows the engine to run for a short time. The engine then starves for fuel and dies. When pumped again, it will run again.

Where can I get a rebuild kit for the fuel pump? I also need a prop and a shear pin. Thanks so much! Please reply to marlenepartridge@frontiernet.net

Motors of that 70s vintage do not have shear pins. If you have a shear pin, that motor may be much older.

You might look up the serial number at the maxrules.com site to get the correct year and then go to crowleymarine.com and look up the fuel pump rebuild kit. Motors of that 70s vintage ususally had two triangle shaped fuel pumps, so you will need two kits, but they are cheap.
