FIRST QUESTION: What could cause a 45HP that when started with no problems and placed in gear will not accelerate above 3500 RPMs for about 30 minutes.. then it finally takes off and accelerates to full throttle (above 5000 RPMS) with no problems and runs fine for the rest of the day? It sounds normal but just go to WOT for about the first 30 minutes... AND
SECOND QUESTION: Today after getting the 45 HP to run at WOT, we ran it there for about a total of 1 1/2 hrs, and used the 5 HP kicker at slow idle in gear for about 5 hours.. A TOTAL OF 12 GALLONS Of GAS MIXTURE WAS USED... These motors have never consummed this much fuel as long as we have used them. It cut our fishing day short... We are looking for ideas and places to look rather than start at the repair shop before our next fishing trip. IDEAS / HELP PLEASE!

Did you ever figure out your problem with the lack of power when started cold. I have the same exact symptoms and its either the trigger switch or more than likley the switchbox.
