Hi all just a quick Q,
Got a couple of old merc engines that im gona be restoring. One is 6hp twin silver band other is a 9.8 silver band. I know they are both made around the mid 60's and have the same 'phelon ignition' sytem in them. The problem is that when I bought them BOTH had the top cyl. HT cap and cable ripped off!!
My question is does it make any difference if I took the bottom cyl. HT cable and condenser off and used it for the top cyl. on the other engine to make one good motor?!
I.E is the top and bottom HT cable and condenser interchangable?!
I presume they are but just wanted to double check
