I recently purchased a 2002 17 ft lund with a 75 hp 4 stroke merc knowing it was a bit underpowered but the price was right. The mecury manual says that the bore ,stroke ,displacement is exactly the same for 75 hp and 90 hp.In fact the only difference in the specs is the rated hp and rpm (75 hp runs 4500 to 5500 max and 90 hp runs 5000 to 6000.Seems like it may be a simple task to upgrade the hp. Could anyone tell me if this is possible and what parts would need to be changed. (electronics ,carbs jets etc)

It would be cheaper to sell the 75 and buy a 90.
