Anyone out there ever had a powerhead welded?
If so how did it hold up.
Mine has a small hole in it when I lost a rod and needs to be patched.
Some machanics have told me its done all the time.
And that a lot of remans are sold installed without you even knowing that they were welded.

I know of some blocks on small 4 stroke motors being "patched". Generally they are the small single cylinder types. I don't know if yours could be fixed, but if the cost isn't too much, might be worth a shot, and see.

Most of the folks over at Screamandfly.com wear helmets so the rod caps don't hit them in the head.

They do it all the time. There are guys on the board that are experts at it.

There are secrets; super degreasing, right filler, right procedure, maybe temp treatment afterwards. I know they're always tig and not mig welded.

hope it helps
