noisy outdrive after mechanic replace upper bearing set and yoke

Mechanic said he found oil in bellows during outdrive servicing and also found worn yoke bearing and upper gear set pitting. So he replaced yoke and uppoer gear set. Now I have a whine in neutral that stops when put into gear.

Had no noise before repair, and is too annoying now. Any input on what caused the new noise would be helpful.
