I've got a late 70's 50hp Mariner with no numbers. When the tilt button is activated there is a clicking sound on the motor coming from a Bosch 12v30A 0332 209 150 part. It looks like two little square boxes. It hasn't been used in two years but is clean. Is it a part or electrical problem?

I also need to know which shift and throttle cables go on top and bottom of motor.

Thanks for the help.

Throttle on top, shift on bottom.

If you hear clicking in both UP and DOWN, it's probably rusted brush holders in the trim motor cap. It could be relays, but it's a tad unlikely that both would fail at the same time. Unless the boat swamped, or the plug was left in, and they submerged.

I'd also start with brushes...

Some of the more experienced users can advice you on how to turn the motor shaft by hand. That will eliminate rusted bearings.
