I searched for this answer, but could not find it. I recently bought a boat with '84 Mercury 75 hp outboard, but can't remember what the guy told me for the oil/fuel mixture. I have ordered a mx manual, but have not received it yet. Anyone with answer, I'd appreciate your time.
Thanks in advance!

Re: '84 Mercury 75hp oil mixture

At least 50:1 has been the standard for a lotta years. Think your '84 fills that bill. That means 1 pint per 6 gallons of gas if my memory serves me properly. Lets see 132 oz per gallon x6 gallons = 792 oz gas and 16 oz oil = 792/16 = 49.5:1.

Looks like a 50:1 to me.

Go for it.

Mark

Make sure it is TC-W3 oil 50:1 is fine. That raito is good for most all outboards built after about 1970. Some made before that had brass bearings and had to have more oil! Just about all here use the 50:1 mix now.
Welcome to iboats, Tim
