My 15hp Mariner starts fine, idles beatifully and sounds great. The previous owner used it with remotes which I have not got. When the throttle handle is turned nothing happens until it gets to a certain point then it goes full throttle, ie there is no inbetween - just idle or full throttle. Can anyone let me know where to start looking.
<br /><br />Start by tracing out the linkage between your throttle handle and the carb/stator. Gradual increase in the throttle setting should result in gradual advance of timing and carb butterfly.<br /><br />Good luck.
