30 hp Mercury.

My son has a 95 Mercury 30hp with electric start. The Johnboat he has it on now has no steering wheel. The motor is tiller operated. He wants to buy a small hull with a center console and use his current outboard to power it. He was asking me if this outboard can be converted to this type of setup. Is it possible and how hard is it to do?

There are kits available to convert many tiller models to cable steering and vice-versa. You would need a steering kit, wiring harness, remote control (many include the harness), and shift/throttle conversion kit. You would have to order most if not all from a dealer. It's not hard. It's not cheap.
