I have 175hp Mercury OB, 1976. I beleive to have timing set correctly, rebuilt carbs (not needle valve). New coil on #1 because suspect plug not firing under compression. Runnung rough today (as in the past) noticed grey grease and som water flung out of exhaust prop area. this is new. about the rough idle, squeeze bulb, carbs gurgle then seems to firm up. not sure if firm enough. the engine sat for at least 6 years when i purchased it two months ago. I had in water weeks ago , had to throddle quickly forward into gear or would die. help
