My starter spins good but will not pop up and engage the fly wheel. What can I do? Also
she won't idle or slow go without killing.

If it's on one of those deep cycle or dual purposed deep cycle get a new starter battery. Lots of times the deep cycle batterie just don't deliver enough voltage to get the starter to snap up to speed fst enought to make the bendix work correctly. You could also lube the bendix with some light spray lube while twisting it up and down.

WHOA!!
Don't start buying new batteries and parts until you KNOW what the problem is.

Put a voltmeter on the starter and try her out. If the voltage is over about 8 volts your battery is not at fault. Now measure at your battery, same criteria.

If the battery voltage is more than about 1 volt higher than the voltage at the starter you have a poor connection in the high current circuit.

If the starter is getting over 8 volts, lubricate the bendix mechanism that raises the gear.

Only if your battery voltage drops below about 8 volts when the starter is engaged should you consider changing batteries, and then only if it is fully charged.

Good luck. :)
