What year is this Mariner 30 hp?

Just wondering what year this motor is, its a Mariner 30 hp.<br /><br />Serial/Date Plate: 689 - S - 025967<br /><br /><br />I know mercury makes this motor- is it considered a better motor then mercury or a cheaper motor?<br /><br />Any common problems with this motor? <br />Thanks for any info.<br />-John

NORMALLY THE LAST TWO DIGITS IN SERIAL ARE THE YEAR. LIKE MINE IS 75773. THE YEAR MADE 1973.

I live in Finland and have Mariner 30hp.
Serial number what i find from motor is OG083667.
Can somebody help me and tell what year is my motor from.

edit: it's supposed to be between 1993 to 1995.
