The overheating alarm came on while we were trolling for just over 20 minutes. The water that was coming out of the motor was a steady flow and just warm. We stopped and let it sit for a few minutes and then started it back up, no alarm until after 15 minutes it came on again. We pulled the cover and felt the motor which did not seem to be excessively hot, you could hold your hand on it. Started back up and after a short time it came on again. We decided it was not overheating and kept trolling, after about 20 minutes it went off and stayed off for most of the day. it came back on maybe 4 hours later when we started trolling again. It did not come on when we were going fast. What do you think is going on here?
Thanks
Dennis

I am no expert but I would take a look at the sending end of it where it plugs into the motor. Take it out clean it and reinstall it. ;)
