2005 OR062.... I have seen this issue previously on other Mercury and Tohatsu small outboards.Just above the idle port cover an oil leak occurs. Seems as though bad metal or bad milling helps to create a small crack or a hole at this point..I believe the oil sump is here inside the housing. Has anyone seen this issue?
So I have a few of these motors just put aside for parts or future repair and or parts swapping. I have seen this area fixed with JB weld and whatever other epoxies owners have attempted a fix it with. As of yet I have not welded nor epoxied this area. I am curious as to any other takes on this. If you have seen it and how did you fix it..
