98 Merc 150 EFI, replaced parts, still no start.

What happened: Trouble started when I went WOT starting a tournament. OB bogged down, tried restarting, idled fine but died when I tried WOT.
Finally OB wouldn't start at all in about 10 minutes time.

I found the wires from the stator to rectifier had soldered themselves together. So I replaced both rectifiers. Found there to be no spark, so I have replaced the Stator and trigger, as the trigger had a crack. I know have spark by checking all the cylinders, but the darn thing will not start. It sounds like it doesn't even want to try and start. Just cranking, no sounds of combustion what so ever.

New parts again:
Stator
Trigger
Both Rectifiers

Any ideas would help this frustrated boater.

Correct. Hijacking is a No No.

Does the fuel pump come on when you turn key to on???

Now I feel stupid. I did not know you can hear the fuel pump on a 98 150 efi Merc OB. So I should be able to turn the key and hear the whine of the pump if I take off cowl and stand near it?

Yes...should come on for a few seconds then shut off.
