Hello everyone,

I have a 1975 Mercury 650 65 HP on my boat. The other day I was out cruising a little bit above 1/2 throttle. All the sudden the motor died. It took awhile to get her started again. When I finally did the boat would hardly move. If I tried to throttle down the motor would bog then die. I had to slowly putt back to the harbor. At home, while flushing the motor I noticed fuel leaking from the bottom carb. Could this be a carb or fuel pump issue? Any input will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

You may have a stuck float, an inlet valve held open by a foreign object.

Thank you all for the help. Pulled the carbs today and rebuilt them. One of the floats ended up having a hole in it and as such filled with fuel and wouldn't open. Started it after rebuilding and the problem seems to be fixed. Thanks again
