I was recently given an old 50 HP Merc motor. I was told the motor was in good running condition when it was abandoned several years ago. The owner passed away and a neighbor "rescued" it. It is dried out to the point of being hard to turn with the plugs out. What I would like to know is what to do to get it to the point of getting a decent compression test. The propeller shaft is non-marked from fishing line and the major components look good except the wiring (of course). Any ideas.
