Took my boat with a 1979 mercury v175 out a couple weeks ago and it was running fine but suddenly bogged and lost power. I hooked it to the muffs today and noticed no water coming from the tell tale. I changed the impeller a couple months ago so I doubted it being the issue. I pulled all of my plugs and noticed water on the bottom starboard plug. After finding this I started the motor with that plug out and found that it was shooting water from that cylinder. Also when I started the motor without the spark plug in water started coming out of the tell tale again. Could this be as simple as a blown head gasket or am I looking at something much more serious?
