I have a 2003 Merc 15 hp 2 stroke starts and runs perfect, however the idle control knob does not increase the idle as it should when turned completely clockwise. When I checked it, there is a gap on the 90 degree end of the idle rod and the adjustment screw on the other end is turned in completely. There is no room to take up the slack. The mount bracket, rod and movment appears fixed so dimensions look like they wont change. Im baffled, if anyone has run into this problem I would appreciate any suggestions.
