1986 Mercury 35 HP flywheel has no threads.

My puller is of no use on this motor. Must have been a bad day when this motor was built.
My searches found no alternative pullers.
What can I use?

??---Just use 2 of those 8 bolts and a proper puller.------Bin done many times.

Are there any free holes on the top of the flywheel to attach a steering wheel/flywheel puller instead of using the Merc brand style of puller? If not, Racerone would be correct. Just pull a few of the eight bolts and use the other style of flywheel puller to pop it off. Just be sure to protect the top of the shaft when removing the flywheel!

Got it. A pair of grade 8 bolts and a harmonic balancer puller did the trick. Thanx
