So i just recently got a 1999 Mercury Seapro 60. Right off the bat the woodruff key sheared so i replaced it. Engine idled great and ran strong for a couple of weekends. Now when i start it, it idles way up and the only way i can get it to idle down is if i manually push the linkage to close the butterflies. I have backed the roller off the cam and tried everything i can think of to get it to idle down with no luck at all. To top that off... when i give it gas it just bogs and smokes like a freight train. I have checked the woodruff key under the flywheel already and it is good. What am i overlooking here that needs to happen? Thank you in advance!!
