I have a 1977 Mercury inline 6 cyl 1150 rebuilt.

When I try to start it out, I found out the gas sprayed out of the carb. And if I squeeze the bulb very hard, I can also see the gas float out from the throttle.

What's the possible reasons for the problems?

Thanks, attached is the picture of the carburetor. The gas seems to spray out from the red circled hole when cranking.

Float valve is stuck.----Float is not floating properly.----Needle has dirt on it.------Float not adjusted properly.---One of the above is the problem.

image_261485.png Thanks for the right direction.
I re-cleaned the whole carburetors and finally found out one of the floats hesitate to move freely in the bowl. After cleaning it out, the motor can start up now.

But when I checked the leakage, there is all gas dripping around the linkages, as I circled out in the attached picture.
I tried to find out where the leaks come from but still not sure. I guess maybe the throttle control?

I did seal all the threads as much as possible but never remember doing anything with the throttle control.
How can I fix it?
