2006 Mercury outboard motors 5 hp model 1F05201FK

We have cleaned out fuel tank and put in new gas
Pulled off carb and flushed with clean gas, needle was sticking but seems to work fine after cleaning
We are getting fuel into the carb but not out of, or so it seems
We are getting spark because it will fire up with a little ether.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will probably need to do a little more cleaning of the carb. there are many small passage ways that need carb cleaner and compressed air blasted through them, flushing with gas won't do much.

Ok we will pull it off and try again. We did blow it out with air and cleaner. What else could it be? Thanks

From your description of the problem, the carb is most likely still the issue.

With the gas can hooked onto the motor, pull the fuel hose off of the carb inlet. Squeezing the primer bulb repeatedly, you can purge into a discard container. Even with new gas in the can, there probably was some old fuel, condensation?, that remained. It's a quick and simple check.

Ok, we pulled the carb back off Saturday and the jet on the top of carb was clogged completely. We cleaned it out with some safety wire and cleaner, put it all back together and she fired right up. Thanks for all the help guys....
