HI all. I just acquired a 74 mercury 650. I noticed that it appears to be leaking some oil from the prop shaft seal. I have been looking for several hours online trying to find the right part number for the complete lower unit seal kit. I can find them listed for just about everything else. I do not know what other motors use the same lower unit so I could cross reference to something that will fit. Serial number is 3809752. I figure one of the local mercury experts might chime in and enlighten me. Thanks in advance

Here ya go. Just get rid of the spaces and paste it to your web bar:

Use our parts diagrams instead. Fudging around our rules is frowned on!

Hey. Thanks for the link. I ended up finding a copy of the parts catalog for my engine with original part numbers, I was able to cross most items that a seal kit would typically have from old OEM numbers to updated mercury part numbers then to Sierra part numbers. I will pressure test the case, tear it down if necessary and just order the required parts a la Carter. If anyone is interested I can list my findings. I was also able to find a sierra kit that has a lot of what would be included in a kit
