I have this sweet running 4hp outboard from 1980. I cannot seem to find the right prop. I'very bought 2 different ones... part #48-63494A10. The other one? Splines are too big won't engage the spline on the motor. Any ideas? I've spent $170 on props! Can the lower gear assembly be swapped out for another?

If I cannot find the correct prop, can I replace the prop shaft to accommodate a known prop? Or is it not that simple and I would need a new lower section?

I believe that motor is referred to as a " gnat " on the parts website.

GNAT. You are correct. The prop is discontinued. Anyone know of anyone who stocks old hard to find parts?

No luck anywhere! The part numbers that say they fit, do not fit.
