What to do with the starter solenoid when the air box is off?

Hey Guys-

To do adjustments on my carbs, I need to pull the air box off of my 1987 50HP 3 cyl and then start the engine. The starter solenoid mounts to the top of the air box. It looks like it is grounded to the air box as well. What do you guys do?

Thanks!

Run a ground to it, and hang it from a good spot with tie straps. If it has 2 wires going to each small terminals, it's grounded through them wires. If it only has 1 wire, its grounded through the base.

Starter solenoid mounted to the air box sounds weird. My Johnsons have a choke solenoid or enrichening valve mounted to the air box. What motor do you have? Curiosity has the better of me......thanks!!!
